INSTITUTIONAL ADVANCEMENT ] NEW SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES New Scholarship Opportunities The BAC is grateful for the generosity of donors who have provided our students with new resources of educational travel and much-needed tuition suppor t. William P. Francisco IV Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund e BAC was saddened to lose one of its own in the fall of . "Alum, faculty member, friend and colleague, William "Bill" Francisco is remembered as a beloved member of the BAC community. His family has chosen to honor Bill's life and love of the BAC by establishing a scholarship in his name. Bill is remembered by his loving family as "a talented individual, who brought much to the world in the form of his profession as an architect and his volunteer work." Bill's sisters visited the BAC to nalize plans for the scholarship last fall and found solace walking the halls that Bill walked and experiencing rst-hand the BAC through his eyes. As an exceptional person who embraced life to the fullest, Bill's legacy will certainly lie in the design students his Scholarship will bene t through the years. Plans are underway to award the inaugural scholarship in Fall . Designers Lighting Forum New England Travel Scholarship rough the generosity of the DLFNE, this one-of-a-kind travel experience is now available to BAC students. e scholarship provides funds for one student to travel to Frankfurt, Germany to attend the premiere lighting show, Light + Building: International Trade Fair for Architecture and Technology. Alternating from year to year, New York City is the destination, for Spring, . e rst DLFNE recipient recently returned from Frankfurt. Elizabeth Moran enjoyed a hands-on, mentored experience. She will be sharing some of her lighting observations and ideas at a Designers Lighting Forum sponsored mixer that is open to all students this fall. New England Design Hall of Fame Scholarship e New England Home Design Hall of Fame was created by New England Home Magazine to recognize the achievements of the region's top residential architects and interior designers. At its inaugural gala held in November, design professionals from all ranks welcomed the rst Hall of Fame inductees, chosen by a select committee comprised of representa- tives from the New England Home Magazine editorial sta , Boston Design Center, Boston Architec- tural College, and the Boston Society of Architects. rough the generosity of New England Home Magazine, a portion of the evening's proceeds were earmarked to bene t two design scholarship awards at the BAC.
