It offers unique opportunities fo r study. After leaving the program and returning with a fresh perspective, I truly value the quality of the educational experience which the BAC has afforded me.” Bill worked as a carpenter in South Carolina before moving to Boston to attend the BAC. In Boston he has worked for Ahearn Schopfer, a nd Goody Clancy. He is presently working at CBT. Since graduation Bill has been involved at the BAC by participating in Portfolio and Progress Revie ws. He is presently co-tea ch- ing the American & Contemporary Architecture course. Dan bartlett ’98 Director “Commuting from New Hampshire to attend the BAC for eight years was achieved as a result of my passion for architect ure, motivation , and the unique st ruct ure of a BAC education . My service to the Alumni Board will help reaff irm the spirit of volunt eerism that is so mutually beneficial.” Following interesting for ays into interior design and building construction before returning to architecture, Dan came to the BAC in the late 1980s. Since then, he has worked a s lead designer in timber frame design, and as project manager for several architectural firms in the Monadnock region of New Hampshire. In 2003 Dan established his own practice in Keene, New Hampshire. DB Architects LLC is a sole proprietorship in general practice. gerald Couto ’70 Director “I relish the opportunity to meet t oday’ s students and assist them in their scholastic endeavors through the awarding of scholarships— many in memory of BAC inst ruct ors who influenced my life.” Following three years of study at RISD and time in the U.S. Marine Corps, Jerry enrolled at the BAC. Upon c ompletion of his studies in 1970, he rec eived a Certificate of Completion and was awarded his Bachelor of Architect ure degree in 1984. After working for a number of Boston’s leading architectur al firms, Jerry founded Gera ld Couto, Architect in 1986 and in 2000 expanded his business with Dream House Designs, P.C . steven C . habeeb ’82 Director “The BAC has been an integral part of my life since 1974. It is a unique educational institution which I believe t o this day, graduates practitioners more prepared and effective in shaping our built environment than the majority of traditional colleges and universities.” As a practice faculty member and thesis advisor, and a member of the Honors and Awards Committee for 20 years, Steven is an active supporter of the BAC. He practices architecture from his South Shore office of Habeeb & Associates Architect s and currently employs three BAC students among his staff.
