bac board chair lisa bonneville faSID Inducted into New England Design hall of fame The Design Hall of Fame honors individuals who have had a significant career in design in New England with this lifetime achievement award. The B oston A rchitectural College c elebrates the induction of BAC Board Chair Lisa Bonneville FASID into The New England Design Hall of Fame. The Design Hall of Fame honors individuals who have had a significant career in design in New England with this lifetime achievement award. The 2008 inductees include: A rchitects Ja mes Estes, Estes/Twombley in Newport, Rhode Island, and Mark Hutker, Hutker Architects in Martha’s Vineyard and Falmouth, Ma ss.; Interior Designer Nancy Taylor, Taylor Interior Design in Providenc e, Rhode Isla nd; a nd Residential Architect Richard Wills, Royal Barry Wills A rchitects in Boston. The induction of the second class took place at the annual awards gala, held at the State Room in Boston on November 12, 2008 and was presented by New England Home Magazine. Lisa Bonneville is the Principal of Bonneville Design in Manchester-by- the - Se a, a n award-winning independent interior design firm established in 1981 that ser ves a residential, bu siness, healthcare and ret ail clientele. Lisa rec eived a B.F.A . in Graphic Design from Michigan State University, c ompleted interior design studies at the Har vard Graduate School of Design and at the New England School of Art and Design, a nd studied archi- tectural drafting at the BAC before achieving professional NCIDQ certification in 1989. She was the 2006 recipient of a n Honorary Master’s Degree in Interior Design from the B oston Architectura l College. Lisa has taken an active leadership role in the interior design profession through local, regional, a nd national involvement with the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). Her ma ny role s include: past Chapter President, Treasurer and Public Rel ations Chair of the New England Chapter; Chair of the ASID Northeast Regional Convention in Boston; Director on the National ASID Board and the Knowledge Res ource Council; Chair of the Designer Referra l Council and National Examiners C ommittee; a nd member of the Nationa l Appointments Committee a nd National Code s Council. Lisa has represented ASID on the Furnishings & Contents Technical Committee of the NFPA since 2000, in juried interior design competi- tions for the ASID and BSA, and she has served as Fundraising Chair and Public Relations Chair of the Massachu setts Interior Design Coalition (MIDC) in support of licen- su re for registered interior designer s. In 2000, she bec ame the seventh New England recipient of the ASID Medalist Award for her service to the New England Chapter, a nd in 2006 became the second member of the chapter and 23rd national member to be inducted into the ASID College of Fellow s, the society’s highest honor. Lisa believes in giving back to the community and is a charter member of the ADA Advisor y Council in Manchester- by-the-Sea , MA, where she initiated the annual Access Award, recognizing businesses that ma ke their buildings ADA accessible to the public. In 2007, Lisa rec eived citations from the Ma s sachu setts House of Representatives and Senate, a nd from Governor Deval Patrick. In June 2007, she was honored as the 2007 Cape Ann Chamber of Commerc e Sma ll Business Person of the Year by the Manchester- by-the-Sea B oard of Selectmen. Lisa comments ab out her role a s the first woma n Chair of the Boa rd of Directors of the BAC, “A s an Interior Designer, I a m espe cia lly proud of the commitment to diversity that has led to my service as the first non-architect to hold this office. I a m highly motivated to effect change a nd institutiona lize a culture of equality. During her tenure a s BAC Board Chair, she ha s worked closely with President Ted La ndsmark to address the deficiencies and dispa rities in demographic diversity within the design profe ssions. Lisa ha s worked very c losely with each student organization at the BAC a nd states, “It is my belief that through mutual respect a nd support, a model for collaborative teaching, learning, governing, a nd practice that spans design disciplines, will result in successes most relevant to the students who attend the BAC.” The BAC heartily congratulates Lisa Bonneville FASID, new member of the New England Design Hall of Fame.
