The Boston Architectura l College wa s pleased to present a public lecture and ex hibition by Hideo Sa s aki Foundation Distinguished Visiting Critics (DVC), Stefan Behnisch from Behnisch Architekten and Thomas Auer from Transsolar KlimaEngineering. Their lecture, Integrated Design: Concept, Process, Realization , explored the ways in which architects can create buildings which are better integrated in our world and place less strain on our environment through the process of building. Their ex hibition Integrated Design Strategies: the Collaborative Work of Behnisch Architekten and Transsolar KlimaEngineering showcased projects—both realized and in process — from the t welve-year c oll aboration between Behnisch Architekten a nd Trans- sol ar Klima Engineering. It provided insight into their process and expression of sus ta inable de sign and demonstrated that investigating solution s to current and potentia l environmenta l problems pose s both fascinating and rewarding challenges.
